The holiday season is, without a doubt, my favorite time of the year. I cant help it! I’m as sucker for the Christmas spirit. The sights, smells, the magical feeling in the air. I just love all of it!

That being said, I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm. And to be honest, there are times where even I don’t share my enthusiasm. Lets face it. The holidays can be a lonely and stressful time, making the idea of holiday cheer nothing more than wishful thinking. Thankfully, there are things we can do to help ourselves get into a more festive mood, so in addition to the Archangel Gabriel Christmas Spirit Mist Recipe I would like share some of my favorite ways to foster up the Christmas spirit.

Decorate your space! Put up a tree, put lights on the house, put a wreath on the door. Fill your outer world with all things Christmas and your inner world will follow suit.
Make a Christmas Advent calendar. Buy one ready made, or create your own. There are endless supplies of ideas available on the internet. Counting down the days of Christmas is a fun way to build the anticipation of Christmas Day.
Listen and sing along to Christmas music. Toss in your favorite Christmas CD (Mr.Buble’s is mine) while you’re bumming around your house or driving in your car and you’ll have a hard time avoiding the Christmas cheer.
Watch Christmas movies . . . especially the old classics. I am addicted to the Hallmark Channel’s holiday movies, but am even a bigger holiday geek when it comes to the classics. Some of my favorites include: A Christmas Story, Love Actually, A Christmas Carol, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone, The Holiday, and The Man Who Saved Christmas.
Bake! Christmas and cakes and cookies go hand in hand. Fruit breads, sugar cookies, gingerbread . . . what every floats your boat. Not only can the act of baking leave you feeling more festive, but a loaf of holiday bread or batch of homemade cookies makes a great gift as well!

Look for holiday events in your town. Most places begin hosting special holiday events in late November, and attending these is a great way to build up some holiday cheer. Light displays, festival of trees, plays, ballets, concerts, dinners, holiday parties — check out what your area has to offer and make the most of it!
